Wake up.

Fashion Week is Coming! Fashion Week is Coming!

One of the new new designers to watch is a freshly plucked duo Timo Weiland. They started their line 2 years ago, strictly neck wear...and have now morphed it into a men's and women's unisex ready-to-wear line. Yummy.

Their items are very laid-back, no hassle type shit. And I found a sneak preview of their Spring 2010 Menswear line. I see couples all over the world fighting over these items. Men, you must learn to share with us...ok?

From Nymag.com:

Classic silhouettes like the bow tie are made with perforated leather or silk, while more elaborate collars reinterpret Victorian-era collars. All of the pieces are unisex with a look that’s both refined and irreverent.“We design for the chic men and women in our lives. It’s our families, friends, and icons we admire..."

She Got Jungle Fever

So I'm still on 10 about my Vintage-Go Green Fashion Show that I had this past week. I have been downloading tons of old music and videos...not forgetting a childhood favorite, Lisa Lisa & The Cult Jam.

Get Inspired.

Bows. Ruffles. Brass.

I feel pretty...and kinda spooky too.

In case you wake up this morning, and the sun isn't out, and your a little hung over, and when you speak a British accent seeps out....then its time to put this shit on.

Luella Bartley has released the 2nd part of her Fall 2009 collection and me likes...Definitely Little House on The Prairie, meets Gossip Girl, meets Safari, meets Twiggy.

NylonMag.com says:
"This season, those clothes include brass-buttoned coats, floral silk blouses, and a pink tiered skirt with bows in all the right places."

The Circumstance Is...

So...since we're planning a war, an economic climatic war...we're going to need uniforms to fit the bill.

Victims of Circumstance, officially launches their first collection next spring that would be the ideal attire for such a situation. The collection showcases vintage-inspired fabric with modernized shapes, fringe skirts, and sheer shirts. Yum.

Now mind you, this war that I speak of is only in thy mind. I mean can you really see me in a sheer top with an AK-47 in my hand? I think not...

Zip Me Up. Swirl Me Round.

DIY is going crrrraaaaaazzzzyyyy for ZIPPERS....and I've just stumbled on a DIY lady who does it the bestest.

Wheeler Willis by Laura Willis makes her zipper creations from Vintage zippers, and spins and spuns those things round and round until the creations you see before you appear. Like swirly dreams come true. Resembling little sea creatures...

Wheeler got bracelets. Wheeler got big ass necklaces. Wheeler got me heart.

Just joined Etsy on August 19th of this year. Wheeler will surely be a hit.

From her bio:

"The fascinating jewelry of Wheeler Willis Jewelry Design was born through my exploration of alternative materials while studying jewelry design at the Corcoran College of Art and Design. My goal is to bridge the gap between alternative and classic work by using zippers, a unique and edgy material, to create jewelry that is traditional in shape and style."

Prices range from $85 to $300, and she does custom orders as well. Yum.

My Rachel. Your Roy

I don't know if I'm happy or sad about the Recession. I mean if these designers keep lowering their price-points for us poor-folk, then should I really be upset that the prices going down? I mean, this shit is great light-weight! Right?

Anyway, My girl is moving on up (popularity-wise). And lowering the prices while at it. (poor people-wise)

Rachel Roy is about to debut her new, more affordable clothing line Rachel Rachel Roy for Macy's. Price points range around $30-$299. And she has everything from T-shirts, leopard-print skinny jeans, purses, to Bombers, to jumpsuits, bad-bitch jewelries and faux fur vests just to name a few.

Little snip of a interview with stylelist.com:

Why was it important for you to do this line at this time?

Rachel Roy: I have always wanted to design a collection of affordable priced clothing. Jones Apparel Group approached me and together we decided that there was an opening in the market for the younger sister to the Rachel Roy collection which is how the Rachel Rachel Roy collection was born.

More deliciousness...

Life.

What I always say...

"If it ain't one thing, It's another thing..."

As we get older, one learns more and more things about life. This has been one of the most stressful years of my life... (moving, work, love, recognition, family...etc etc) And I realize that I'm still hanging in there. I'm still kicking. STILL smiling.

So...what are you stressed about? What has made you appreciate all the good things? What has kicked you in the neck and said hello, stay humble?

I just wanted to send this blog out to say, We're all going through it. Stay strong and what your working for will pay off in the end. Just stay beautiful inside and out.

Quote of the Blog:

"Feeling grateful or appreciative of someone or something in your life actually attracts more of the things that you appreciate and value into your life."

Bump In The Night.

Are people still talking about Lady Gaga? I've been so out the loop as of late...I can't be sure.

Anyway, she's landed the cover of OUT Magazine, plus a spread. I like the pictures, they seem to be channeling the whole vampire...spooky Frankenstein thing.

Side Note: I heart True Blood.
