I just purchased "The Wild Things" by Dave Eggers, which is the novel version of the old-classic children's book "Where The Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak. So naturally, I wanted to do some research before I read the book and then saw the movie. The book was written in 1963 and was the Winner of the 1964 Caldecott Medal as the "Most Distinguished Picture Book of the Year". When the book came out, the theme of dealing with dark emotions was unheard of in children's literature, particularly in a picture book such as this.

So for those of you who don't know the premise of the book, it is based on the fantasy (and real) consequences of a little boy's mischief.

Smells Like Teen Spirit.

Oldie but Goodie.

Where were you in '92? With Paris Fashion Week in full swing, I couldn't help but to reminiscence about my first days in fashion. I think it was around 1992 when I started watching Fashion File and Fashion Television early Saturday mornings, while other kids watched cartoons. I don't really remember what I was watching...but I knew, that I was in love.

So naturally, I went back to the Marc Jacobs for Perry Ellis days. Classic Grunge. Classic '92. Classic Marc. Don't forget, he got fired for his "shocking" collection in 1992...which was probably the best thing that could have ever happened for him. He was hired shortly after by the biggest luxury brand in history, aka Louis Vuitton.

While studying the piece, I noticed the faces have sewn-up mouths. And I love how the detailed long silver chains are designed to look like the hair. This necklace is quite appropriate for Halloween, and is surely a conversation piece. Reminds me of that man who had that little ass head in Beetlejuice...remember?

Anyway, if I could make a suggestion please. Wear with a shaved head (1/2 only), black studded boots, anything by Alexander Wang, and bright red lipstick. Go now...

I love the color black. Black hair, black leggings, black booties, black men, Blackberry. I have stumbled upon a girl who loves black more than Marilyn Manson and a New York City girl combined. She has perfected the art of silk, mesh, leather, and lace...all in black licorice.

Hannah Marshall, Queen of Edgy, is a British designer who came on the scene 'round 2007, and is a mere 26. Her pieces are sharp, refined, and very architecturally designed. And get this...she puts secret code messages in all her designs made in Braille form, which are centered around the infamous LBD (Little Black Dress)

So pour yourself a cup of black coffee, sit your ass on a buttery black leather couch, and crack open your black Macbook and find out about this girl. (I know...I over did it, so what)
