Fantasy. Reality.

I just purchased "The Wild Things" by Dave Eggers, which is the novel version of the old-classic children's book "Where The Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak. So naturally, I wanted to do some research before I read the book and then saw the movie. The book was written in 1963 and was the Winner of the 1964 Caldecott Medal as the "Most Distinguished Picture Book of the Year". When the book came out, the theme of dealing with dark emotions was unheard of in children's literature, particularly in a picture book such as this.

So for those of you who don't know the premise of the book, it is based on the fantasy (and real) consequences of a little boy's mischief.

Truly an classic. Read the book on tape here.

Watch the trailer "Where The Wild Things Are" here.
In theaters & Imax this FRIDAY! (Oct. 16th)

Trend Alert: THE BANDAL

What is the Bandal you ask? The illegitimate child of the Boot and the Sandal.

This spring/summer....and I guess fall, will come the all-around Bandal boot. Which is a combination between a Boot and a Sandal. Some blame it on the Remy, Some blame it on the Recession...I blame it on the genius of a beautiful shoe.

I got a weird looking Bandal from Urban Outfitters last year that sort of looked like an ice-skating shoe....and I loved it. Now I know, I was right on track. See more below.
